Your Daily Hydration Made Easy

daily hydration

You are not alone if you feel like it is sometimes a challenge to squeeze in your 64 ounces of daily fluids each day. Ideally your fluid intake should be spread out throughout the day. The tips below will help you to stay hydrated on even the busiest of days.

Start Your Day Off With A Hydrating Beverage

When you wake in the morning, your lungs are dry—and your body has not been hydrated for at least 7 or 8 hours. This is an excellent time to rehydrate with your first 8 to 16 ounces of daily fluid.

Bring Your Beverages With You

When you head out for the day, bring your hydrating fluids with you in refillable bottles. This will make it easier to avoid sugar-filled beverages, and will serve as a friendly reminder to hydrate.

Water Isn’t Your Only Option For Daily Hydration

While water should be your primary source of daily hydration, it certainly doesn’t have to be your only source. Sodas and even sugar-filled sports beverages should be kept to a minimum, but feel free to hydrate with:

  • Herbal teas
  • Coconut water
  • Fruit-infused water
  • Fruits and veggies
  • Low-sodium broths

Bonus Tip: Fill a 1-gallon pitcher of water with 6 to 8 peppermint tea bags. Let seep for 3 hours in the fridge, remove tea bags and stir. This will provide you with a refreshing alternative to water.

Make sure to drink no less than 64 ounces of hydrating fluids each day, more when you are sweating or when it is hot and humid out.
