When you finally make the time to schedule a relaxing massage, you may find yourself overwhelmed by all of your options. If you don’t yet have a go-to massage therapist, or a type of massage you prefer, consider the options below.
A Swedish massage is a standard relaxation technique. It is smooth and flowing, and most therapists will ease into pressure or never apply more than soft to medium pressure. This is an excellent choice for your first massage.
Acupressure is an ancient Chinese art, which is based around massaging specific pressure points and meridians in the body. While you can turn to acupressure for chronic or acute pain, it is a whole body health type of massage that targets no specific area—but latterly works from head to feet. For best results, be consistent. If you do not enjoy deep pressure, let your therapist know, as deep pressure is the norm.
Deep tissue massage is an excellent choice if you are struggling with an injury, chronic, or acute pain. Your therapist will target your area of choice, and the associated muscles and tendons. Medium to deep pressure is used.
These are just a handful of options to choose from when you schedule your next relaxing massage. Enjoy!
