If you feel spread thin and as though there is never enough time in the day, then it’s time to lighten your load. Below are 3 things you can do to build a bit of breathing room in your week.
Eliminate The Things You Like Least
I don’t love cleaning the floors or the litter box. In fact, even though I enjoy a clean home, cleaning is often something that falls to the bottom of my growing ‘to-do’ list. So, I hired a cleaning crew to come in 1 day a week. Now my home is clean, and I have more time in my week—and less stress. If not a cleaning crew, give your kids chores. If cleaning is not the culprit, delegate tasks that don’t have to be done by you.
Ask For Help
Are you a parent whose evenings are spent trying to be in 2 or 3 places at once? Like picking your daughter up from tai chi at the same time your son is done at soccer? You aren’t alone, so ask for help. Grandma or Grandma might be free to pitch in, or join or start a carpool so you don’t have to do all the driving.
We get so used to saying “yes”, that we fail to realize the items added to our busy schedule that is no longer meaningful to us. This could be a sport our child has played for years, but their heart is no longer in it. Or an ongoing commitment you feel obligated to, but really don’t enjoy.
Life is meant to be fulfilling, so do what you need to do to ensure your days are filled with more you genuinely look forward to!
