Life presents us with lots of opportunities which can positively change our path, but can also be a bit scary—or at the very least challenging to decide what to do next. Here are a few things to consider when at a crossroad.
Don’t Make A Fear-Based Decision
Certainty is comfortable, even if you don’t really love where you are at the moment. If you do enjoy where you are, don’t allow a fear-based decision to keep you from taking your life to the next level—or in a new direction.
The word “should” is often used to keep us from trying new things or stepping out of our comfort zone. For example, “I should make the responsible choice and stay in this good paying job that I hate.” It is not irresponsible to change or try new things. In fact, one could argue that is it irresponsible to stop growing.
One thing I like to do when I’m at a crossroads is to consider whether or not I will regret it if I don’t try. While we can’t 100% determine what we may regret not trying, sometimes answering this question is enough to get you motivated.
Look at crossroads as the next step in where you want to be, and regardless of your final decision welcome them with joy and enthusiasm for life!
