Gyms are popular because they offer a convenient place to work out, but traditional gyms simply aren’t for everyone. Instead of forcing yourself to go to the gym 4 or 5 days a week, find a fitness routine that you actually enjoy.
Walking Or Hiking
Walking and hiking is an excellent form of cardio, and is something you can do just about anywhere with a sidewalk or trail. Walk or hike with your kids, friends, or take the dog out for a lengthy stroll.
Most adults leave group athletics behind when they graduate from high school or college, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Sign up for a local sports league, and have fun while you exercise. As an added bonus, group sports is an excellent way to make new friends.
Sign up for a hip hop dance class, a dance cardio class, or ballroom dance class. You can even turn up the volume at home and dance to your heart’s content.
Workout At Home
Working out at home takes a lot of disciple, so it isn’t for everyone. If you have the discipline to push yourself when working out at home, invest in a few workout videos to keep things fun. Even look for workout programs on YouTube, or sign up to an online yoga, Pilates, or fitness website. All you need to get started is a fitness mat, and a few workout-specific investments.
These are just a handful of fun gym-free workouts—you can easily find many more.
