The air on airplanes is dehumidified, and recirculated—meaning that when you land your skin is likely to look dry, oily, and maybe even irritated. Keep your skin looking its best with the tips below.
Do Drink Hydrating Beverages
Drink no less than 64 ounces of hydrating fluids each day, and at least 8 more ounces a day beginning 2 days prior to flying. Also increase hydration when you are in the air.
Don’t Eat Or Drink These Items
Alcohol and foods high in refined sugars will dehydrate your body from the inside out. Bring your own healthy snacks and beverages while you fly.
Two weeks before you travel, begin applying a PM moisturizer—in addition to your usual AM and PM facial cream. Apply a second application of head-to-toe body lotion on the day you fly, and reapply moisturizer every 2 hours while in flight. Don’t forget your lips!
Don’t Exfoliate Your Skin Before You Fly
Don’t exfoliate or shave the day you fly, as this will increase the sensitivity of your skin.
Do Exfoliate When You Land
When you land, cleanse from head-to-toe—and gently exfoliate. Follow up with your serum, facial moisturizer, and body lotion.
Whether you are traveling for work or play, you want to make sure that your skin looks its best when you land. The tips above will help support both your skin and body by ensuring you remain adequately hydrated when you travel by air.
