Are You Living Or Existing?

Are you living or existing?

We’re all living and breathing, so we’re “living” right? Between working 40 or 50 plus hours each week, and tending to your home and family responsibilities—you may not have realized that your life has become more of a series of chores, that you are existing, but not living to your full potential. Not sure which one applies to you? Answer the questions below to determine if you are living or existing.

  • Do you feel a sense of fulfillment in life? With work, friends, family, personal passions?
  • Do you have any personal passions, and do you make time for them?
  • Look at your schedule for the next 4 weeks. Count how much “me” time, social time, free time, or events you are really looking forward to that are scheduled?
  • Do you have any goals you are currently working on?
  • Do you make the time to smell the roses? Or perhaps you don’t think there are any “roses” worthy of your attention?
  • When was the last time you did something spontaneously?
  • Can you quickly and easily think of 10 things you are grateful for?

The fact of the matter is, we all have similar responsibilities such as eating, breathing, working and caring for our pets and children. However, it is the quality of the time we invest in the things that bring us joy that truly make life worth living—and that determine whether or not we are living or existing.
