Dog’s really are man, and woman’s, best friend. While you certainly can’t deny the emotional benefits of having your furbaby greet you at the door when you come home—your dog can help you stay in shape.
Dog’s Need Walks
When you gotta go you gotta go, but your dog will need to be taken on at least 4 walks a day to do their business. If you have a yard, avoid the temptation to just open the door and let them out every time—and commit to at least one 30 minute walk each day.
Play Time Is Good For You Too
The interactive options in outdoor dog toys have never been more impressive, but a plain old tennis ball or frisbee will always do the trick. Head out to play fetch, run and play with your pup, or go swimming in lake or ocean. You can even take your pup jogging with you!
Head Out And About
Many dogs are game for outings to the local park, beach, or lake—so bring your pup with and enjoy an active day outdoors. When you bring your dog with you are likely to stay out a bit longer because they are having so much fun.
Whatever your routine, your precious pooch will expect you to stay up with it—and who couldn’t use a workout partner? If you are in the market for a new pet, don’t forget to check out your local animal shelters!
