Make It Easy

If you find yourself in a constant state of stress, or in the midst of an unexpected stressor, take a moment to press pause—then identify the solution that will instantly make it easy for you. Your solution may not always make it easy for everyone, but sometimes you simply must put yourself first.

Change Is Inevitable

As proactive as you might, be it is inevitable that something will unexpectedly pop up and throw a wrench in your plans. A last-minute family visit, bad traffic, a change of venue, a canceled or rescheduled meeting, or a free will choice of others—who as tempting as it may be, you should not waste your time trying to change.

Breath And Accept

Instead of stewing over the unexpected change of circumstances, take a moment to regroup. Take a deep breath, let go of the “plan” and accept the new factors—then find a way to make them work.

Look For The Opportunity

I sincerely believe that sometimes we get so caught up in what we had planned, that we miss the wonderful opportunity that presents itself when plans change. The sooner we move on, the easier it is to see the positive change. For example, your unexpected visit from grandma and grandpa gives you a few days of free babysitting—and an excellent opportunity to catch up and create new memories. Or your canceled plans mean that you now have some unexpected free time in your schedule.

Make it easy the next time plans change by going with the flow instead of against it.
