Now that the weather has warmed up it’s time to take advantage of the fact that you can work out outside. Here are just a few reasons why you should take at least one or two of your weekly workouts outdoors.
The Change Of Scenery
Gym workouts are effective, but they can get monotonous in both your routine and the environment. Head out to a beautiful setting like a park or waterway and enjoy the fresh air and the picturesque view. Also, being in nature helps to reduce stress.
To Mix Up Your Workout
Working out outside presents a whole new set of workout opportunities. From outdoor group sports to hiking, water sports, playing frisbee or catch with your dog, and more. This ensures you have fun while working out and increases the likelihood of meeting new people.
Different Use Of Your Muscles
Hiking up a trail uses more of your smaller muscle groups than walking on a treadmill—even when on an incline. Running outside means you will have wind resistance at least one way. Playing volleyball on the beach instead of on a court creates a variety of new physical and athletic challenges.
Also, take advantage of local group workout activities such as outdoor yoga, walking and running clubs, outdoor boot camps, and more.
