It’s something all parents struggle with but there are some things you can do to ensure you have quality time with your kids and maintain a successful career.
Find The Right Company Culture
It’s just a plain and simple fact that some employers value your commitment to your family as much they value your commitment to them. In fact, they understand that by providing their staff with the flexibility to be with their loved ones that they increase their employee retention. These companies exist to make sure to look for a job that will ensure that you have the flexibility to work from home, actually take your vacations, have weekends off, and be home for dinner most nights. Also, a company who equally supports this for both moms and dads.
Find The Right Team
It takes a village to raise a child. Any combination of your partner, family, best friends, other parents, or your babysitter or nanny you must find the right team to help you get your kids up each morning, fed, and to where they need to be for their daily extracurricular activities. In addition to those who help directly with your kids delegate more of your household tasks—laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, errands, cooking, and more.
Last but not least, unplug and be present when you are with your kids. Kids can always feel when your attention is divided and you will feel less stress and more fulfillment if your time with them is all in.
