Morning Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

I have carpal tunnel and repetitive motion inflammation in my hands and forearm. Some days the pain is so severe that I can only work with voice recognition software, which slows me down. I have tried everything from heat, cold, creams, and 2x daily ibuprofen, but nothing works better than my morning anti-inflammatory smoothie.

What’s In My Smoothie

There are lots of foods that claim to have anti-inflammatory properties, and I tried increasing each in my diet—but nothing made a noticeable impact until I started a daily smoothie. Here’s what’s in it:

  • 1 ½ cup frozen or fresh pineapple
  • 10 to 15 frozen or fresh cherries
  • ½ an avocado
  • 1 teaspoon of moringa
  • 2 dashes of cinnamon
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • ½ cup soymilk to blend
  • *your protein of choice
  • *one additional fruit of choice for added flavor

How Long Did It Take To Work?

My hope was to feel the difference within a month, but to my surprise I began to feel a noticeable improvement within a week—and a major reduction by the end of two weeks. Within a month, I was down to just one ibuprofen a day and only needing heat, ice or creams on days when I worked more than usual. The only other thing I do, is an additional PM serving of moringa. If I do something different for breakfast, I just have my smoothie for lunch.
