While boosting the probiotics in your diet is an important part of maintaining your gut health, it isn’t the only part. Here are a few other tweaks you can make to improve your digestion.
Workout at least 4 days a week. This will optimize your digestion and keep your body internally balanced. If you sit for more than 4 hours a day at work add a few daily stretches that will help to balance out your sedentary time. This includes any type of yoga twist, backbend or arch.
Stress hormones can throw your entire body out of whack and wreak havoc on your digestion. One of the best ways to combat stress is with a proactive approach. This will look different for everyone but will include and combination of exercise, meditation, massage, steam, hot baths, time in nature, and spending quality time with those you love.
What You Drink Matters
We talk a lot about food when it comes to gut health but what you drink matters too. Both alcohol and caffeine can throw you gut microbes and digestion out of balance. Beverages that are high in sugar should be all but eliminated, with water being your primary source of hydration.
Here is to your improved digestive health!
