We’ve heard all the benefits of meditation but if you’ve given it a try with little to no luck these tips will help. Here’s how to start meditating with success.
Meditation will feel like less work if you start small, committing just 5 or 10 minutes each day. Practice makes perfect so meditate at least 3 days a week for 3 weeks. Slowly but surely your mind will begin to quiet down.
Try Different Types Of Meditation
Both guided and mantra meditations are a great place for beginners to start. This might include a guided meditation that has you visualize a peaceful scene or repeats a series of chants or positive affirmations. Or you can repeat your own affirmations or mantras. As you successfully clear your mind with one meditation method you can begin to explore other methods.
Test Different Times Of Day
As a beginner you may have an easier time meditation first thing in the morning when you are closer to dream mode than waking mode. Make it easy by setting two alarms, one to wake to and a second 5 or 10 minutes later to meditate. You can stay in bed but sit up so that you don’t drift back to sleep. As you progress in your ability to meditate you can experiment with different times of day.
And don’t count out live yoga and meditation which may make it easier to focus than going it alone.
