As the weather begins to cool down it’s time to switch up your fall skin care routine. Here are a few things to consider.
Switch To A Gentle Cleanser
Now is the time to switch back to a gentle cream or oil cleanser and away from stronger cleansers designed to keep up with your more active summer lifestyle.
Add An Antioxidant Serum
If you don’t already, start using an antioxidant-rich serum under your am and pm moisturizer—or at least under your pm moisturizer. This will help to undo some of the damage created while out in the UV rays. That being said, make sure that between your daytime moisturizer and makeup you maintain a minimum of SPF 50—even when the sun is not shining bright.
Switch To A Richer Cream
If you use a lighter weight am and pm moisturizer it’s time to return to a thicker cream for winter. This is especially important if you live in a cold, wet, or snowy climate. Really let it penetrate your skin by using a facial roller after application. Use your roller with either your serum or your moisturizer.
Don’t Forget Your Hands And Lips
Your hands and lips are more likely to get chapped as the weather cools down so make sure you carry both a hand cream and hydrating lip balm with you. Your feet may dry out too so apply lotion socks and gloves at least a day or two a week.
Here’s to healthy skin all year round!
