It’s official! The New Year is here making now the perfect time to set a few positive intentions for the year ahead. While most resolutions are to lose weight, eat healthier, exercise more, and finally get your finances under control. Those are all worthy goals, but the tips below will help you to open your heart and love more in the year to come.
Think Beyond Romantic Love
Romance is often the first thing that comes to mind when we think of love, but we must first cultivate self-love. If we don’t love ourselves we can’t be a fully present, healthy, or loving presence for others. Beyond self-love, we must be more loving with our friends and family, and humanity as a whole.
There are many ways to share your love with others. You could cook or bake, make an art or craft, volunteer in your community, pay it forward, or do anything that connects you to others. When you give of your time it isn’t just of benefit to those you are sharing with but also of benefit to you.
Open Your Heart
Opening your heart means looking for love in every moment of your day. If you have been hurt before, which we all have, it can be difficult to be vulnerable. Vulnerability is the bravest thing we can be, so we must be brave and allow love in. Start small if you must by opening up more to a trusted loved one, or even getting a pet.
Here’s to loving more each and every day!
