March 20 is International Day of Happiness and this year’s theme is “Happier Together” focusing on what we have in common instead of what divides us. Here are a few ways to celebrate our common humanity and make someone happy—which will boost your happiness too!
Participate In A Local Happy Event
Check the Action For Happiness calendar and download their app for daily inspiration all-year-round, to connect with likeminded people, and participate in local happiness events. This is a global initiative founded by the United Nations so be sure to check out happy events while traveling in over 160 countries.
Pay It Forward
It’s a concept that will never grow old but look for little ways to pay it forward throughout your day. It doesn’t take much time or effort but it can make you and the person you pay it forward to feel more connected and engaged.
Do Something That Makes You Happy
We are busier than ever and digitally connected from the second we wake to the moment we unplug, but we have never been lonelier or more disconnected. So, take some time to do something that makes you happy. Bonus points if this is something you can do as part of a group, it could even be an unplugged dinner with friends!
Here’s to making happiness a priority!
