Aging is a natural process but by understanding free radicals you can take a proactive approach to slow the rate of fine lines and wrinkles.
What Are Free Radicals?
Free radicals are toxic elements that cause damage at the cellular level. We come in contact with both internal and external free radicals every day. Externally they increase the rate at which fine lines and wrinkles form. You can minimize the free radicals you come in contact with but there is no way to avoid them. They can be found in:
- Cleaning products
- Pesticides and Pollution
- Cigarette smoke
- UV rays and light
- And more
How To Minimize Free Radicals?
Free radicals can be repaired by increasing the amount of antioxidants in your diet and skincare and beauty routine. When it comes to your topical skincare products ensure that at least one of your products contains Vitamins A, Vitamin C, or Vitamin E. To protect from UV rays of every kind, use a broad-spectrum UV cream every day—even in the winter and even if you aren’t heading outside. Internally, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, minimize processed sugars, and eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables.
Here’s to your healthy and beautiful skin!
