Traveling During COVID-19 For The Holidays

With months of social distancing, the thought of skipping the large family gatherings this year is too much to bear. This has many considering traveling during COVID-19. Here are a few things to consider.

Where Are You Going?

Most of us are so focused on local pandemic protocols, that we forget that they may be drastically different where we plan to travel. So, before you go check online and reach out to local friends and family. For example, if you are expected to quarantine for 2 weeks, you may not be planning on staying that long.

Where Are You Staying?

Instead of cramming everyone in as usual, you may be considering staying in a hotel or Airbnb. Or if you usually stay in a hotel or Airbnb you may be considering staying with family. Wherever you stay, consider bringing your own sheets and pillows. And check to see what protocols are in place for COVID-19 and social distancing.

How Large Is The Group?

Many families are choosing to have smaller group gatherings this year. Check with the host to determine your comfort level and ask what precautions will be in place to keep everyone safe. For example, if at-risk family members will be in attendance, what is being done to minimize their risk?

It’s ok if you decide to stay home and do a smaller group this year.
