With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s time to start tidying up. With everyone home social distancing, you may find that your home is a bit messier than usual. Clearing the clutter for the holidays will also help you get in the holiday spirit.
Use Boxes Or Bins
Use plastic storage bins or medium size boxes to sort through items. If space is tight you may even use your bins to temporarily store items. For example, if you will have guests staying with you, you may store some of the items in your guest room closet so that they have somewhere to put their luggage.
Group What You Sort
Go through one room at a time doing an initial sort first. Items should go into 4 groups, Keep, Store, Donate/Sell, or Temporarily Store. There are a variety of methods that can be used to determine what you want to keep or donate, such as the Marie Kondo sparks joy method.
Clean And Decorate
As you clear the clutter you are sure to find areas in need of deep cleaning so clean each room or area as you go. As you organize and create space you can arrange your seasonal decorations.
Here’s to a joyful holiday season!
