It’s time to abandon fear of failure and embrace the fact that failure is part of the process!
We Fail More Than We Succeed
Everything in life takes practice. As an adult, we forget this and crave the comfort of knowing we will succeed. But as an infant and child everything is new, and we keep trying until we get it right. Crawling, standing, walking, reading, writing, feeding ourselves. Every subject we study in school, every art, sport, and extracurricular activity. Everything!
It took renowned inventor Thomas Edison 1,000 times to get the lightbulb working, but he didn’t see his multiple attempts as failure. “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.”
It’s The Only Way To Get Unstuck
As comfortable as it may be, if you feel stuck in your life—the only way to get unstuck is to do and try something new. And no, you may not succeed the first time. Or you may make a few mistakes or hit a few roadblocks along the way. The alternative is that nothing changes, always leaving you wanting more. There’s no need to go it alone, as you can work with a life or business coach to create an action-oriented approach.
Here’s to the failures that lead to success!
