Whether you are doing a solo or small Christmas you may be searching for an alternative to cooking a whole turkey. Here are your top options.
Order Your Turkey
Not only is it easier, but it may also be less expensive to order turkey dinner from a grocery store—often with stuffing, mashed potatoes, and gravy. Or check with local restaurants to see if they are offering delivery or pickup of a turkey dinner on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Then, all you must do is make the dessert or side dishes that don’t come with.
Smoked Turkey Legs
If you like dark meat and enjoy smoked turkey, head to the freezer section of Costco or your local grocery store for smoked turkey legs. They are super easy to bake, even easier than a turkey. You can still make all your other favorite side dishes in smaller batches than usual.
This year is also the perfect time to consider a non-turkey option. Consider:
- Rack of lamb
- Cornish game hens
- Ribeye steak
- Beef Wellington
- Ordering in Chinese food
You may return to tradition next year, or this year may be the start of a new tradition!
