The first 90 days will be the most challenging, so hang in there! These tips will help with maintaining your health with a newborn.
Take Naps
Infants sleep between 16 and 18 hours per day, so nap when they nap. Yes, some of their nap time must be invested in getting a few things done, but be sure to take hour-long naps several times per day. If you’re back to work, nap between working from home—and head to bed no less than one hour early.
Don’t Diet
You want to lose the baby weight, but you must avoid the temptation to diet, especially if you are breastfeeding. Breastfeeding your body requires about 500 extra calories per day, but not to worry as you can still lose weight by focusing on quality nutrition.
Micro-Workout
You may not have the time, energy, or childcare available to head to the gym for an hour, so embrace the micro-workout. Set a goal to do 3 to 5, 10-minute workouts per day, including full-body stretching.
As your infant begins sleeping for longer amounts of time it will be easier to maintain your health.
