    With digital distractions on the rise, we have gone from checking our phone 50 or so times a day to well over a hundred times a day. On top of this, we browse back and forth between multiple web browsers and have auto alerts on most devices to notify us of new social media messages, emails, gaming notifications, and more. Here is how monotasking can help.

    Start By Prioritizing Your To-Do List

    The first thing you need to do is determine your top priorities of the day, then schedule in a dedicated time to get them done. This block of time is when you turn all other alerts and distractions off and focus solely on the task at hand. You might even want to schedule in recurring blocks of time on a daily basis to do daily essential tasks such as 30 minutes each morning to check and respond to emails.

    Daily Unplugged Times

    It´s only difficult to unplug because our incessant need to check our phones has become a habit—something to fill every empty second. This makes it more important now than ever to have a few daily unplugged times. This might be the first 20 minutes after you wake up while eating dinner, working out, or on date night.

    It may take a week or two to get used to but monotasking is one of the easiest ways to boost productivity in the digital age.
